The congress will take place at the Auditorium Parco della musica  one of the most relevant and active centers for music in the city.

Call for papers – IAML Rome 2016

Deadline: November 10, 2015

The Forum of Commissions and Professional Branches of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentations Centres (IAML) is pleased to announce the call for papers for the IAML Congress to be held in Rome, 3–8 July 2016.

The IAML Forum of Commissions and Professional Branches invites papers on subjects related to music, collections, or library issues.  This year there will be a focus on Italian music libraries, special collections, and music publishers; proposals may also concern relationship between librarians and performers. Presentations of a more general nature are also welcome as well as papers that focus on popular or traditional music of all genres and periods and their impact on libraries.

Paper presentations are limited to 30 minutes (including questions and discussion). Proposals can be submitted in any of the IAML official languages: English, French, or German.

Deadline for submission of proposals is November 10, 2015.

Submissions will be evaluated by the members of the IAML Forum of Commissions and Professional Branches. If a proposal is accepted, the presenter(s) will be expected to participate in the congress.

Participants will be notified by December 20, 2015.

Call for posters – IAML Rome 2016

The Forum of Commissions and Professional Branches of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentations Centres (IAML) is pleased to announce the call for posters for the IAML Congress to be held in Rome, 3–8 July 2016.

An alternative approach to the presentation of projects will be available for congress participants. An area on the conference premises has been designated for the presentation of information regarding specific projects or activities of interest to librarians and musicologists.

Parameters for presentation:

Poster sessions will convey the subject using a combination of graphics and narrative text attached to a poster board together with relevant handouts. A table for handouts, business cards, and sign-up sheets will be provided if required. The presenter(s) must be in attendance throughout the designated time to answer questions and elaborate on the presentation’s topic. Posters may be presented in any of the IAML official languages: English, French, or German.

Deadline for submission of proposals is November 10, 2015.

Submissions will be evaluated by the members of the IAML Forum of Commissions and Professional Branches. Authors of the selected posters will receive detailed guidelines concerning effective preparation, presentation, and relevant dimensions.

Participants will be notified by December 20, 2015.
